Woodford Announces Latest Master's Collection Called Woodford Reserve Batch Proof

Woodford has announced their latest addition to their Master's Collection in the form of a new spirit called 'Woodford Reserve Batch Proof.' This is the first release in 2020 of the Master's Collection joining 2019 Batch Proof that was announced in May of 2019 and Chocolate Malted Rye Bourbon announced in October of 2019.

Not much is known about this new release but I would expect the mash bill to be similar to Woodford Reserve Bourbon and come in around 72% corn, 18% rye, and 10% malted barley. This limited edition comes in at a whopping 123.6 proof (61.8% alcohol) and offers the following tasting notes:

Nose: n/a
Taste: Raisin and spicy leather
Finish: Long malty sweetness

No age statement or suggested retail price was provided.

Our Take

Like I mentioned when I wrote about the last Master's collection, I love the Woodford Master's Collection. My most expensive bottle I've ever purchased was the 2017 version which was Cherry Wood Smoked Barley. Although price wasn't provided, I would expect this to run around $100 and be fairly hard to find.
