MGP Releases 2020 Version of Rossville Union Single Barrel Rye Whiskey

Indiana based MGP has announced the release of their 2020 version of Rossville Union Single Barrel Rye first announced in February. This is the Rossville's first Single Barrel release for the Union Rye.

Andrew Mansinne, Vice President of Brands says:
We're proud to make some of the finest rye whiskey in the country at our Lawrenceburg distillery. Demand for our 2020 Rossville Union Single Barrel Selection has exceeded expectations in our inaugural year. We are thrilled to work with our valued retail and distributor partners to offer this limited-edition single barrel selection of Rossville Union.

The single barrel rye is bottled-in-bond (aged at least 4 years, bottled at 100 proof (50% alcohol) and carries a price of $49.99 for a 750ml bottle. Availability is limited to participating accounts who opted in earlier in the year. This product is showing up on the State OHLQ inventory website with the following message:

This is an exclusive OHLQ Barrel Selection product. Sign up for the OHLQ Insiders Bulletin to be the first to know when it will be released in Ohio.

My Take

It's encouraging that this product is coming to Ohio. Rossville is a brand that I'm not very familiar with and have never tried. If you're like me, this could be a good bottle to start with. I don't think it's worth camping out or spending a bunch of time to track it down, but if you see it on the shelf, it could be worth picking up to give it a go.
