Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) Announces WhistlePig Barrel Series #4 of 4 - Available March 7

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced the availability of the final of the four WhistlePig Single Barrel selections that will be offered to Ohioans. The four releases are Spicy Pig, Smooth Pig, Rich Pig, and the Sweet Pig (this release). The Sweet Pig bottles will be available at select stores (see the list below) beginning at 9am on Saturday, March 7th.

The Sweet Pig was selected by Master Blender Pete Lynch and a team from OHLQ and is available exclusively for Ohio. It has been aged 11 years and is bottled at 120 proof (60% alcohol). It is priced at $99.99 for a 750ml bottle and offers the following tasting notes:

Nose: Vanilla, baking spices and a dollop of toasted oak, vanilla, and citrus

Taste: Maple syrup sweetness and a pleasant rye spice

Finish: Long and clean with plenty of spice

My Take (same as the previous releases)

Like the previous three releases, this is one I'll be sitting out. I'm not the biggest fan of Whistle Pig and there are plenty of Whistle Pig bottles readily available that I would rather try. Additionally, with each location only receiving 60 bottles, you'll need to put forth a decent amount of effort to score a bottle (arriving at least 30-45 minutes early to wait in line).
