Ohio Division of Liquor Control Announces Russell's Reserve Barrel Selection - Available June 14

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control has announced the availability of 10 select barrels picked by Master Distiller Eddie Russell specifically for the state of Ohio. These unique bottles will available at select Ohio Liquor stores (listed below) beginning at 9am on June 14th.

The barrels that produced this product was aged 9 1/2 years with a #4 char in new American oak barrels and comes bottled at 110 proof (55% alcohol). The barrels come from two different warehouses and three different floors giving each barrel a unique flavor profile. The bottles will be for sale for $54.99 + tax on a first come, first serve basis.

Our Take

The 2018 edition of the Ohio Russell Reserve Barrel Selection was the first limited release that I took part in. I was able to get to one of the locations 15 minutes before opening to find the line already 30-40 people deep. Luckily, I was able to easily score a bottle and head to another location in Columbus where I was one of the last people able to get one.

For a bourbon of this caliber, this is one I'm excited about. The price is fair and each location has enough supply where if you show up before opening, you'll most likely get a bottle. I'll be hitting up one of the Columbus locations and hope to see you there!
