Bardstown Bourbon Company Announces Their First Product - Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1

Bardstown Bourbon Company has announced their first bourbon called Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1. This new bourbon is a blend of Bardstown Bourbon Company's estate-made, two-year-old wheat and high-rye bourbons, with an 11-year-old sourced Kentucky bourbon.

For those unfamiliar with Bardstown Bourbon Company, ChicagoBourbon.org did an amazing write up that is a must read... however, the Cliffs Notes are that they are a newer distillery that focuses on making bourbon for their customers... their services include everything from sourcing to bottling with everything in between. They currently produce 40 mash bills for some of the finest whiskey and bourbon brands in the world.

Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1 is their first foray into creating and marketing their own brand of spirits. David Mandell, President and CEO says:
"We are a new blend of bourbon makers pushing the boundaries through innovation, while honoring the traditional art of making whiskey, Bardstown Bourbon Fusion Series #1 is a celebration of our distillery, beverage and culinary teams working together to create spectacular bourbon."
This new spirit comes in at 98.9 proof with a suggested retail price of $59.99 for a 750ml bottle. It is now available in Kentucky and Indiana through Republic National Distributing Company and will be released in California and Florida through Southern Glazers Wine and Spirits in May, and Tennessee and Illinois this summer.

Our Take

This is really cool to see Bardstown producing their own spirits given their expertise and state of the art facilities. The price point is probably a bit high, but that is to be expected prior to distilleries being able to scale (similar to New Riff and Rabbit Hole). We're disappointed this isn't coming to Ohio in the first wave (or possibly forever) and have reached out to Bardstown for clarification on if they have plans for Ohio as well as the tasting notes and will update this post if we hear back.
