Angel's Envy Releases Limited Edition Bourbon Finished in Sherry Casks

Louisville based Angel's Envy has announced their first new release since 2013 in a limited edition run of their Angel's Envy Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Finished in Oloroso Sherry Casks.

This new spirit has been aged from 4-9 years in traditional bourbon barrels, then finished in Oloroso Sherry casks between two and three years.
"With our latest ANGEL'S ENVY expression, we've taken inspiration from the Venenciador of Spain, whose exacting pull and pour of sherry is required to aerate the liquid in order to reveal its true character," said Wes Henderson, Chief Innovation Officer and Founder at ANGEL'S ENVY. "We took a page from that book and chose to let this limited release rest for an extended finishing period in Oloroso sherry barrels, lengthening the oxidation process for a sophisticated level of flavor. We chose Oloroso sherry casks because we believed the nutty notes from the Oloroso Sherry would pair well with our bourbon."
The spirit is bottled at 100 proof. Only Just 3,600 bottles are available for purchase at a suggested retail of $199.99. Sales begin on February 12 to a limited set of Angel's Envy 500 Main Members (Angel's Envy's membership-driven platform). Members will receive an email with a unique link to the reservation portal where they can reserve a bottle for pickup and purchase at the distillery. Sales to the general public can purchase a bottle starting on February 15 from the Angel's Envy distillery in Louisville, Kentucky and select Kentucky-based retailers. This is a lot to pay for an individual bottle, but the rarity uniqueness could be worth it. Unfortunately, no bottles will be for sale in Ohio.
Nose - Pleasantly sweet with noticeable hints of raisin and hazelnut
Taste - Oak forward with a distinct dryness from the sherry, as well as heavy vanilla and caramel
Finish - Shifts from sweetness to a pleasant, lingering floral finish
