Wild Turkey Announces Master's Keep Unforgotten

Campari Group owned brand Wild Turkey has announced a new limited release titled Master's Keep Unforgotten. This release is a high proof, extra-aged variation of Wild Turkey Forgiven (which is a discontinued limited release). The premise is that the original Forgiven release was a mistake by mixing a young rye and mature bourbon.

Wild Turkey's Master Distiller Eddie Russell says:
Twelve years ago, I tasted the result of the distillery mishap that would become Wild Turkey Forgiven and was amazed. It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before, and I knew we had stumbled upon something special. Master's Keep Unforgotten pays homage to this happy accident, perfected with a secondary rye barrel aging in our pre-prohibition Rickhouse B – the favorite of my father, Master Distiller Jimmy Russell.
The Master's Keep Series was started in 2015 and is highlighted by experimenting with aging techniques and finishes. Unforgotten comes in at 105 proof (52.5% alcohol). It is a combination of 13-year-old bourbon and 8- & 9-year-old rye and carries a $200 MSRP.

Nose: Fruit-forward with notes of caramel and oak
Taste: A swirl of caramel, dried fruit, and sweet oak
Finish: Notes of dried fruit, honey, black pepper, and baking spice

My Take

This sounds like a really cool release and the price isn't outrageous. Your best bet on finding this is probably online or directly at the distillery. If I saw this, I would buy a bottle and save for special occasions or keep out on display as the bottle looks really cool.
