Q&A #2 - A Columbus Bourbon Second!

It's been a few months and I had a good time with the first Q&A so I figured I'd so a second. A few people wrote in after the first one asking if these are real questions. If they have a name with them or say anonymous, they are questions I've received. If they don't, then it's a question people ask in person or questions I would think people may have. With that said, let's get started!

My first haircut at the start of the pandemic in March/April of 2020.
Hard to believe it's been a full year of COVID-19.

Q. Big Jonkulous writes "To each their own, but I really question your sense of taste/smell. This stuff is a steal at $20ish, and is loaded with flavor. I need to blind this and OF1910, because it's every bit as delicious and banana-bready, but for half the price."
A. Well... I guess it's not to each their own to directly question my sense of taste/smell. I'm sure you're a blast to hang out with where your opinion is the only one that matters. I look forward to your blog in the future where every review is compared to $20 Old Forester.

The thing with bourbon is that it's subjective based on the person. I may really like a bourbon that others don't. That's the beauty of it. This site is my opinion so if it offends you to the point you need to write in saying my sense of taste and smell sucks... there are plenty of other sites you can go to.

Q. Seth writes "I would love to know how to join this group. Huge Bourbon lover and history of the process. Love to talk all things bourbon"

A. I don't have an actual group, but there are some local groups that I know of. The one I send people to most is the Central Ohio Whiskey Society run by Eric. They have an active Facebook group... the downside is that you have to be on Facebook, which is the worst

Q. Melvin asks 'How do I become a member?

A. See Seth's question!

Q. Why are there sometimes large gaps in the number of days between posts?

A. A lot of it has to do with when news comes out and a lot of it has to do with how busy I am in my day job and life. As you may know, this site is one person so that's why there are sometimes gaps and why there are probably grammar and logic mistakes.

As an aside, if you come across any grammar or logic errors that are super annoying, drop a note in the comments and I'll update the post.

Q. Tom writes in 'Are you still looking for a bottle of Weller Antique? I have an extra bottle and am willing to trade?'

A. Thanks for the email. I am actually not looking for Weller at this time. I have a huge backlog of bourbon I need to start drinking. Definitely check out the Columbus Ohio Whiskey Society on Facebook or try eric@columbusbourbon.com. I think he's usually looking for trades or could maybe direct you to someone who is.

Q. Al writes in 'Do you have Blanton's Single Barrel or Colonel EH Taylor Bottled in Bond available? If so can you ship to Texas? Thanks, Al'

A. Hi Al. Yes, I have a monopoly on the Blanton's market. I've replaced the water in my house with Blanton's so I can take Blanton's showers, Blanton's baths, and wash my hands with Blanton's. If you would like some, definitely send a bunch of money my way.

That's all for now. I hope you enjoyed the Q&A. If you have any questions that I missed or that you're curious about, you can drop me a note from the contact page or drop a note in the comment box below.
