Blade and Bow to Re-Release 22-Year-Old Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

For the second time since I started this blog, Blade and Bow is re-releasing their 22-year-old bourbon. This re-release coincides with the 85th Anniversary of the opening of the Stitzel-Weller Distillery.

Meghan Redler, Brand Manager for Blade and Bow says:
We are honored to call the Stitzel-Weller Distillery home to Blade and Bow bourbons, and to play a part in preserving the careful craftsmanship and unique artistry that was established and perfected within these walls. Releasing Blade and Bow 22-Year-Old this year during Bourbon Heritage Month allows us to pay homage to this historic distillery with our finest liquid.

No details were provided, however, previous re-releases had a 92 proof. No MSRP was provided and will be available in limited quantities beginning in September in the following states: California, Texas, Georgia, Colorado, New York, South Carolina, Illinois, Kentucky, Washington, D.C., Tennessee, North Carolina and Virginia.

My Take

Like all other Blade and Bow products, this release won't be coming to Ohio so it's not worth getting excited about. Additionally, no tasting notes and no MSRP make this a non-starter. However, looking online, there are bottles going for less than $500 so if you see this in another state at a reasonable price, it might be worth thinking about to pick up a 22 year old bourbon. I've personally only had Blade and Bow once in my life and found it solid with lots of depth but I didn't have enough to do a proper review.

What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
