Bourbon & Whiskey Quick Hits - May 31

Welcome to the latest installment of our Friday Quick Hits. This is our roundup of bourbon and whiskey news that are important, but aren't big enough to warrant an article on their own.
  • Four Roses Becomes Official Bourbon of the Rose Bowl Stadium - Fresh off of Ohio State bringing glory to the Rose Bowl with a definitive 28-23 victory (the outcome wasn't as close as the score indicates), Four Roses has come to an agreement to become the official bourbon of the Rose Bowl Stadium. All four Four Roses spirits will be available at all Rose Bowl events.

Four Roses Master Distiller Brent Elliott says:

“With a legend that began the same year as the Rose Bowl’s storied history, and the obvious connection to roses, it only made sense for Four Roses to partner with the iconic stadium. We’re proud to announce our partnership with America’s Stadium and we look forward to offering Rose Bowl guests a unique and mellow experience by sharing our Bourbons.”

  • Ménage à Trois Raises Introduces Bourbon Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon - Winemaker Ménage à Trois has introduced a Bourbon Barrel Cabernet Sauvignon with an MSRP of $15. This new wine is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Merlot, 2% Petite Sirah.

    From the press release:

"Each sip unpacks the flavors and textures that three months of bourbon-barrel aging imbues. Subtle notes of vanilla, brown sugar and spices meld with the full-bodied flavors of the wine for a truly indulgent experience. Aromas of berry cobbler lead to jammy blueberry and blackberry flavors cloaked in caramel and satisfying spice on the palate. Beautifully structured with a rich mouthfeel and lingering finish, this Ménage à Trois Bourbon Barrel wine captures the full potential of Cabernet Sauvignon."

As always, stay tuned to for bourbon and whiskey news with our reviews publishing on the 1st and 16th of every month.
