Welcome to the latest installment of our Friday Quick Hits. This is our roundup of bourbon and whiskey news that are important, but aren't big enough to warrant an article on their own.
  • Coppercraft Distillery Announces Multi-Year Sponsorship with Detroit Tigers - The new sponsorship includes branding of Comerica Park's right field bar and Coppercraft Distillery signage featured at the ballpark's Bourbon Bar. Brandon Joldersma, director of sales says:

    "This agreement advances our long-term growth strategy, which includes expanding awareness of the Coppercraft brand throughout the Detroit metropolitan area and the State of Michigan, Fans can now enjoy watching Tigers games from a unique vantage point at the Coppercraft Distillery Bar in right field, and at a dedicated Bourbon Bar on the main concourse."

  • Churchill Downs Announces Official Menu of the 145th Kentucky Derby - Churchill Downs Racetrack today announced the official menu of the 145th Kentucky Derby presented by Woodford Reserve. This year's menu is accompanied by an official at-home Derby party menu, featuring 'easy-to-make recipe variations of the official dishes served at Churchill Downs on Derby day.' Chef David Danielson says:

    "At-home Derby parties are a growing tradition across the country, and we want to help make them as special as the historic race they celebrate. With the at-home menu, people across the country can share in the Derby's culinary traditions while we all celebrate the Kentucky Derby together."

  • Rabbit Hole Announces Pre-Sale of 2019 Kentucky Derby Party - hosted by Esquire - Looking for something to do for the Kentucky Derby? Rabbit Hole has you covered with their 2019 Kentucky Derby Party hosted by Esquire. From the press release:

    "Join us for Esquire Magazine’s 3-day Derby Lounge & Party, a Bourbon odyssey at Rabbit Hole Distillery. Featuring event-exclusive cocktails by the creators of Death & Co., hors d’oeuvres, live music, roving entertainment and art installations. In addition, the Saturday, May 4th closing party will be hosted at the Distillery, with a curated dining experience following the big race."

    Tickets start at $99 for a party only ticket and go all the way up to $899 which includes 3 days access to the VIP lounge, two dinner tickets, and a $1,000 Cocktail created by the famed Death and Company team. Ticket prices go up 20% per week so it's best to buy early. You can purchase here

  1. Just brought a bottle of Coppercraft's straight bourbon home with me from a trip to that state up north. Can't wait to open it.
