Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) Announces Town Branch Selections

The Ohio Division of Liquor Control (OHLQ) has announced 3 varieties of Town Branch hitting stores this week. The 3 varieties are Malt Single Barrel, Rye Single Barrel, and Single Barrel Reserve.

In order to track down a bottle, you'll need to head to this applicable website (links below) to see if any stores in your area were allocated any bottles. Per the State website, store locations will be made available on a daily basis as stores receive their shipments so, if interested, you may need to do a fair amount of work to find a bottle.

It comes in with a 86 proof (43% alcohol) and sells for $45.99 for a 750ml bottle.

Rye Single Barrel
The mash bill consists of 55% Rye, 30% Corn, and 15% Malted barley. After aging, the spirit is bottled at 100 proof (50% alcohol) and sells for $54.99 for a 750ml bottle.

Bourbon Single Barrel Reserve
It comes in with a 112 proof (56% alcohol) and sells for $45.99 for a 750ml bottle.

My Take

This release seems very intriguing. I haven't had a ton of Town Branch. For those unfamiliar, they are a micro-distillery owned by Lexington Brewing & Distilling Co., who produces Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale (which is delicious). If I were to make a run for any of these releases, it would definitely be the Bourbon Single Barrel Reserve. Although no age statement was given, the price is reasonable and the bottle looks amazing. If you see these out and about, I'd recommend grabbing a bottle.
